Technogel Pillow Review and Giveaway

Ever since I became pregnant, sleeping has been a chore.  Nothing is comfortable anymore.  You have a huge belly, your hips hurt and to top it off you have to wake up every couple of hours to go to the bathroom.  I have been spending so much time in my bed that I need to be comfortable laying down.  Traditional pillows are just not enough.  I joined most other pregnant women and purchased a Snoogle, which is a must have.  This corrected the hip problems and supported my belly, but I was still left with a nagging pain in my neck because the head support for the Snoogle is not very sturdy.  This brought me to Dr. Scholl's Technogel Pillow.  This is not your regular run of the mill pillow.  Do you know those ultra comfortable insoles for your soles?  This is comparable to that for sleeping.  When my Technogel pillow arrived, the packaging made me realize this was going to be a superior pillow.  Doesn't that just look peaceful?

 

Technogel is a soft solid material that joins together the 3D deformation of a fluid and the memory shape of a solid.  What that fancy terminology means is that while your basic pillow will lose its shape, this pillow will not.  This is what I liked the most.  I felt as if the pillow was holding my head in place.  As soon as I got comfortable, there was no need to change position, because the Technogel held up throughout the night.  This picture shows you the curve of the pillow that makes it so comfortable.

After explaining to Sleep City my sleep problems, they had suggested the Anatomic Pillow. It is recommended to bring relief for those that sleep on their sides or back.  As many are aware, you have to sleep on your side while pregnant, so this was the perfect match for my needs.  The Technogel pillow has a removable cover.  Obviously convenient for washing purposes and comes off with a simple zipper.

When you remove the cover, you can start to see the technology of the pillow.  The pillow's Technogel has great thermal conductivity which favors heat dispersion.  This is going to erase the need to flip your pillow to find a cool side.  This was one of the first things I noticed when I slept on it.  It was noticeably cooler than your basic pillow and stayed that way throughout the night. Below, you can see the Technogel layer, which is protected by a cover as well.  This pillow is hypo-allergenic and completely non-toxic.

By not having to move as much, I was able to sleep longer than with my basic pillow, or a Snoogle alone.  This was the arrangement I found to like the most.

I had intended to travel with my Technogel pillow, but my husband had informed me that while I was gone it was his turn to use it.  When I arrived back home, he was sound asleep and loving the new pillow.  We used it while watching TV in the living room, as well.  We have wooden arm rests that require a pillow, typically two to allow you to lay down.  This one pillow was sturdy enough to make us comfortable.
